Simple dish that the boys love.
Ingredients
Tofu (Buy those meant for steaming or for soups)
Shallots, sliced
Dark soy sauce
Sesame seed oil
Optional:
Garlic, chopped
Ginger, small strips
Spring onions
Cilantro (Chinese Parsley/ Ketumba)
Pork Floss
Method
Steam the tofu (though I usually just run boiling hot water over them)
Put them back in the fridge to get them nice and cold.
Fry up the shallots, (together with garlic and ginger if preferred) in some oil until crispy and fragrant.
Prior to serving:
Drizzle the tofu with soy sauce and sesame seed oil.
Top with the fried onions, include the oil.
(Top with spring onions/ cilantro/ pork floss, according to preference)
* alternative, simply drizzle with Japanese Sesame Seed dressing and serve!
